\"\"Hello, my name is Urs. I am passionate about hiking and cycling through the near and far world. The ch1291.ch<\/a><\/strong> project aims to have me hike around Switzerland in 2026. The number 1291 is not primarily due to the year of the founding of the Swiss Confederation, but rather the result of my planning that my route will be exactly 1291 kilometers long. The planned start is in March 2026, and if everything goes according to plan, I would like to complete the circumnavigation sometime in October 2026. On this journey, I not only want to encounter great landscapes, but also explore the question of what life is like just across the border. What do the people who live close to, but not in, Switzerland think about Switzerland? And what do we Swiss think about the neighboring countries?<\/p>\n

However, ch1291.ch<\/a><\/strong> is not a political project. Of course, everyone is free to have their own personal opinion on the issue of Switzerland or Europe. But whether Switzerland should accept the new EU treaties, whether it should join the EU, or whether it should remain an island on its own, these questions are not really of interest here. It is about the landscape and the people who live near the border.<\/p>\n

The aim is to create a documentary during my journey, in which I will record my impressions and share them with you. Everyone is invited to participate in the project. This can be done in the following ways:<\/p>\n

a) You visit this website regularly. I will announce my next planned section of the route a few days in advance. You can then meet me on the way, hike together with me, and above all, share your thoughts on Switzerland and the border region.<\/p>\n

b) You can contact me by email at office@azurgo.ch and I will be happy to add you to my mailing list. You will then receive a short email from me a few days before my next adventure.<\/p>\n

c) You have an idea of what might fit in with ch1291.ch. This could be a place near the border, a person who would like to talk about life on the border, and\/or it could be a historical event that is broadly related to the history of the border. If you have a suggestion, you are also welcome to call me directly on +41 79 227 49 50.<\/p>\n

In this sense, I look forward to many stimulating encounters with you.<\/p>\n
